we were talking today about the generation thing, and she told me the generation teaching was inconsequential.

To speak in the same terms as the WTS:

The GB has ruined the 144,000. It has subverted the F&DS.The Anointed who are described at Rev. 14:4 have sold themselves to someone other than the Bridegroom. The Organization requires that all JWs who are not on the GB --INCLUDING THE ANOINTED--must follow the direction of the GB. Rev. 14:4 says that "they follow the Lamb wherever he goes" but the GB has established otherwise. So the Question must be asked and it must be answered:

To whom do you belong?

Which god will you obey?

The scriptures warn of that if ever that Slave should begin to eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards and to beat his fellow slaves then at an hour he doesn't expect the Master will arrive and punish him with the utmost severity.

It is a beating unparalleled to be required NOT TO FOLLOW THE LAMB BUT TO FOLLOW A FELLOW SLAVE!

There is one reason that she would write that letter. It is because she has faith. She has real faith in God and that God wants her to be true in her conscience.

The process took a while for me but I too, wrote a letter of dissent to the Branch after I met with the Elders.

I don't regret it at all. It took a while but everyone showed their "true" colors. They don't care about God I discovered, they don't care about your conscience either. They expect you to say what they tell you--no questions asked. What they care about is the F&DS.

It may seem like the boy from whom the demon was thrown out by Jesus. Remember he is thrown about and lies as one dead--but he gets up well, cured.

That religion makes us sick. It is true that we all need love. and for that reason some cling to thr JWs for the community that is there. And some find something like a family there. But anyplace that can happen--it can happen in prison, in universities, at work--literally anywhere. She will find you helping her.

I hope she writes the letter. It will make the Gospels sing to her.

What credentials do you need for discussion, even a valid opinion?

Does it take walking up to a stranger who has been shooting at you and still holds the gun? Will that have value?

What if I have?

What if I disagree with certain of your assumptions in this discussion? Some, not all.

What if I've had a law officer grab me for a slight infraction? Do you need to know how great a wrong I did or how rough he was with me?

What if I feel he was entirely justified to have shot me? He easily might have and been excused for it.

I can understand why.

This girl-punches-policeman hit everyone in an emotional place for a lot of reasons. I think you have been dismissive and not engaged on the discussion with the wisdom that you might have because you think physical and verbal put downs win the day. Use your experiences and your ability to speak in a better way. It would help. And you have been rude to other posters.

P.S.my computer is the last thing to go in my move. I looked at the board and saw what the discussion had going. If you are interested in further discussion on this, I'll check in this evening. I have no idea whether you really discuss things or just dismiss conversations that don't concur with your own point of view.

Mormon vs JW experience

i was browsing some ex-mormon forums and i noticed that many of the experiences sound similar.

people spoke about brain washing, viewing outsiders as being ignorant of the truth, im not sure if im allowed to copy and paste from other forums, if im not please let me know but here are a couple quotes from ex mormon forums:.

"something i very strongly believe, is that even though everything has crumbled to the ground for me right now, i wouldn't change the fact that i left the church for anything.

Here was something a Morman woman said that pushed me toward the exit of the KH.

I was talking to her about Witnesses having the stability of the Bible so that we couldn't be tricked.

She said that they have prophets that tell them new revelations.

She said that we have them too.

I thought for a minute and realized that she was correct.

The GB could change the meaning of the Bible for us and we have to accept it or be kicked out.

Slaves in the household--what would happen?

"who really is the faithful and discreet slave [class and its governing body], who the master appointed over his domestics [anointed ones, otherwise known as 'house slaves', as opposed to the field slaves] to give them their food at the proper time?

happy is that slave if the master on arriving finds him doing so.

The giving out of food in the Master's house was not a mandate to open a restaurant to make a name for himself. The master himself had assigned work for his other slaves. Nourishing the fellow slaves was all the fds was commissioned to do. He had no business beating his fellow slaves for any reason whatsoever.

The fds doesn't necessarily incorporate, does he? There is no indication that there is a group with a title. It is to speak of God's faithfulness that he testifies of that is the only food that is worth eating. To speak of Jesus--and to encourage others to look to the same. And to be patient and faithful themselves. Never to lord it over them.

Mat. 23:8-10 warns the followers of Jesus to never call themselves Teacher or Leader. And they are never to call anyone else on earth "father".

I don't know how to rate myself. But at every opportunity I try to expose the abuses of the so-called "True" religion. It is not only my christian duty but a civic duty. Kind of like warning others when you know a scam artist is in town. 6-8 on the scale maybe?
